Steve Ashbrock

Fire Department

Steve Ashbrock is Fire Chief of the Madeira & Indian Hill (OH) Joint Fire District. He has previous fire service association with the Reading (OH) Fire Department, 5 years as Fire Chief.

Steve has an MPA from the University of Cincinnati and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer (EFO) program.

He is a member of the Ohio Fire Executive program Oversight Committee and chairman of its curriculum subcommittee. The Ohio Fire Executive (OFE) program, in its 15th year of operation, is a program for junior/ascending fire officers in Ohio and sponsored by the Ohio Fire Chief’s Association Charitable Trust. This program was honored by the International Association of Fire Chief’s as its Outstanding Fire Service Program for 2003.

Steve is a member of the International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA) Executive Board. His experience includes work with the following IFSTA manuals: Essentials (4th edition), Fire Department Safety Officer, Fire Fighting Foam, Essentials V and Chief Officer.

Steve is a founding member and past Commissioner of the Hamilton County, Ohio Urban Search and Rescue Task Force and served as chairman of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) for Search & Rescue for the Ohio Fire Chief’s Association and the Ohio Emergency Management Agency.

He is a past member of the faculty at the University of Cincinnati in the Fire Science Degree program and is the Current Past Chair of the IFSTA Executive Board. Steve currently serves on the IFSTA Company Officer validation committee.
