Josh Stefancic, a full-time fire service professional since 2001, has been the Fire Chief for the Safety Harbor Fire Department in Safety Harbor, Florida, since 2018. Josh is a graduate of the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer Program and has been part of the IFSTA family since 2009. He has served on many IFSTA validation committees including: Fire Detection and Suppression Systems, Essentials of Fire Fighting, Pumping/Aerial Driver Operator, Company Officer, and Occupational Safety, Health & Wellness. Josh also represents IFSTA on NFPA 1700, Guide for Structural Fire Fighting. Josh was first elected to the IFSTA Executive Board in 2012. He is currently the vice chair of the IFSTA Executive Board.
He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Oklahoma State University (OSU) in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology in 2001, and his Master's Degree from OSU in Fire and Emergency Management Administration in 2008. He also has a Master’s in Public Administration from Florida Gulf Coast University, and serves as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Pinellas County Fire Chiefs' Association.
