This book was written by Chief Dennis Compton to celebrate Women’s History Month 2026. It is intended to commemorate, encourage and celebrate the vital roles of women across the fire service. Since his first tribute in 2021, Chief Compton highlights how the fire service is shifting away from being a "non-traditional" career path for women. By honoring both individual trailblazers and the collective strength of all women in the field, this work recognizes that their leadership is now a cornerstone of a modern and evolving profession.
