Please join us in congratulating Mike Wieder, who was presented with the 2026 Marvin L. Austin Distinguished Leadership Award during the 2026 IFSTA Validation Conference held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, July 18th.
Mike Wieder is a distinguished professional with a career spanning 47 years in the fire service industry. Now retired, Mr. Wieder most recently served as the Associate Director at Oklahoma State University Fire Protection Publications (OSU FPP) and the Executive Director of the International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA), where he dedicated 40 years of service. His extensive field experience includes serving as a firefighter in Pennsburg, PA, and Stillwater, OK. He earned an Associate of Applied Science in Fire Protection from Northampton Community College, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection and Safety and a Master of Science in Occupational and Adult Education, both from Oklahoma State University.
