The International Fire Service Journal of Leadership and Management (IFSJLM) is pleased to announce that Jim Aleski received the IFSJLM Annual Research Symposium OSU Student Presentation Prize. Mr. Aleski was recognized in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the annual IFSJLM Research Symposium. During the opening session, Jim Aleski received the Prize and presented a paper on the findings of his recent MS thesis research.

Fire Department

Fire Captain Dan Ripley began his career with Lincoln Fire & Rescue in 2004 as a firefighter. His most recent assignment is Company Officer of Engine 3 in downtown Lincoln, Nebraska. He has been a member of the DHS-FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Team - Nebraska Task Force 1 since 2004. Dan currently serves as a Task Force Leader and has been deployed to disasters such as hurricanes Katrina, Dean, Harvey, Irma, Florence, and Fiona (Puerto Rico); the Moore Oklahoma Tornadoes, the Boulder Colorado Floods, Nebraska Floods, and Arkansas Floods. He has served as an adjunct instructor for the Fire Protection Program of Southeast Community College in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Marsha P. Giesler to be honored with the Award at the 29th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner in Washington, DC, April 6, 2017

The Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI) and the International Fire Service Training Association at Fire Protection Publications, Oklahoma State University (IFSTA/FPP/OSU) are pleased to announce that Marsha P. Giesler has been selected as the 2017 Dr. Anne W. Phillips Leadership in Fire Safety Education Award recipient. Ms. Giesler is the Public Education Officer for Downers Grove Fire Department (IL).
