Craig Hannan

With extensive experience in fire protection and business administration, Craig Lee Hannan has dedicated his career to advancing fire safety and emergency services. Hannan is currently the Director of Fire Protection Publications at Oklahoma State University, a position he has held since 2009. In this role, he provides daily oversight and direction, supervises a team of 75 full-time employees, and represents Fire Protection Publications to the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology and Oklahoma State University.

Kristi Bartlett

Kristi Bartlett began her fire service career in 1997 as a volunteer firefighter in her hometown of Daggett, Pennsylvania. In 2006, she began her career in the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department. During her tenure, she has served as firefighter/paramedic, apparatus technician, master technician, lieutenant, and captain in varying sections to include basic training, operations, communications and special operations. She is currently assigned to Special Operations in the Hazardous Material Sections serving as a battalion chief.

Lindsay Judah

Dr. Lindsay Judah, DPA, CFO, CTO, CEMSO, MIFireE, currently serves as the Fire Rescue Division Chief for St. Petersburg Fire Rescue. She also serves as a Fire & Emergency Services consultant working with national and international organizations. She previously served as a District Fire Chief, as well as a Training Captain for an ISO 1 and CFAI accredited fire department, an EMS/Training Lieutenant, Engineer, Firefighter/Paramedic and Paramedic for a regional hospital in Florida’s capital city. She also participated as a Fire Explorer with Post #952, St. Petersburg Fire Rescue.

Dr. R. Bryan Ormond, Ph. D., Receives the 2025 Dr. John Granito Award for Excellence in Fire Leadership and Management Research


Dr. R. Bryan Ormond, Ph.D., was presented the 2025 Dr. John Granito Award for Excellence in Fire Service Leadership and Management Research at the 2025 International Fire Service Journal of Leadership and Management Research Symposium held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on July 12, 2025. This award is presented to individuals who have significantly advanced fire leadership and management literature through their research efforts.

David Eller Receives the 2025 Marvin L. Austin Award

During the Opening General Session of the International Fire Service Training Association 92nd Annual Validation Conference held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on July 12, 2025, the 2025 Marvin L. Austin Distinguished Leadership Award was presented to David Eller.

Tonya Hoover Receives the 2025 John W. Hoglund Award

Michael Weller Receives the 2025 Everett E. Hudiburg Memorial Award


Please join us in congratulating Michael Weller, who was presented with the 2025 Everett E. Hudiburg Memorial Award. The Everett E. Hudiburg Memorial Award is given to an individual who has made significant contributions to the training of firefighters.

Dr. Joshua Smith

Dr. Smith is a retired Chief Fire Officer with over twenty-five years of public safety experience, concentrating on emergency services and adult education. He serves as the IAFF Assistant to the General President and leads their Training, Education, and Grants Administration Division including the HazMat Training Department. Dr. Smith holds a master’s in public administration and a Doctorate of Curriculum Design from Appalachian State University.
