OSU's Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology program is nation's oldest

The OSU Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology program has helped prepare scores of students for the fire protection field, but its impact is even greater.

From graduates serving in leadership positions in fire protection organizations to industry-leading resource publications, OSU and its alumni continue to advance this literary field.

The OSU School of Fire protection was founded in 1937.

Nancy Trench Receives Marvin L. Austin Award

Nancy Trench - retired FPP assistant director

Nancy Trench, retired FPP assistant director, was awarded the Marvin L. Austin Award during the International Fire Service Training Association’s 88th Annual Validation Conference in July 2021.

Trench was involved in the IFSTA Validation Conference in a number of ways during her more than 40 year involvement with Oklahoma State University’s fire programs.

USFA Releases Emergency Services Ergonomics and Wellness report

March 10, 2021

The Emergency Services Ergonomics and Wellness report by Principal Investigator Dr. Cerie Smith, Director of Rehabilitation & Wellness, Phoenix Fire Department, Phoenix, Arizona, is now available for download. The report was produced through a partnership with the United State Fire Administration and IFSTA, headquartered at Fire Protection Publications at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma.
