Fire Protection Publications (FPP) is a mission-driven, values-based organization dedicated to the production of high-quality educational content for the international community of firefighters and first responders. FPP is an Engineering Extension unit of the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology at Oklahoma State University.
We are looking for the right individual to serve as Shipping and Receiving Clerk. This position is a key member of a motivated team of professionals hipping books, manuals and instructional materials to firefighters across the world. You will prepare the shipping area for order processing, review invoices, gather items for inventory stock based on order reports and fill customer orders. The candidate will prepare orders for shipment using appropriate containers and shipping materials and package orders using packing machinery. This position will prepare end-of-day reposts and help manage packing and shipping computer system. The candidate will assist with inventory maintenance, assembly of curriculum packages, management of bulk shipments (unloading, shrink-wrapping and etc.) and item verifications. This position will require you work with high-rack storage units, forklifts and other equipment.
This position will be based in Stillwater, OK. Areas of responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Enters information into computer to process orders, verifies information on screen is valid and has a usable ship-to address.
- Assists with walk-in customers and/or student who purchase items directly from the warehouse.
- Selects items from the pick, for packaging based on individual orders that have been sorted by carrier and content of the order.
- Verifies the amount in the boxes match with the packing slip and reports any discrepancies.
- Ensure all equipment is working properly and report issues to foreman if the issue cannot be quickly resolved.
Qualifications:
High school diploma (or GED), Forklift certification after hire. This position is heavy in manual labor and requires physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently. Compensation:
Compensation for this position will be based on work experience, skills and abilities the selected candidate brings to the position. The current hiring range for Oklahoma State University is $13.00 - $16.00 per hour.
